I don't read the wikis until after I've done an area, so the first time I did the mission where you kill both Shiro and the Lich, I nonchalantly slaughtered the wraiths and Shiro with H/H. I figured this was like the rest of PvE, and a cakewalk for a Paragon, and it was. (I also had never done factions at the time, so I didn't realize Shiro was supposed to be hard.) I was screwing around watching TV at the time, and lost all but me and the General while running around activating shrines to get master's, then kill lthe Lich. I screwed around TOO much, and died. No biggie, I'll just pay attention next time and get master's easily.

I died many times in a row before I finally broke down and looked at the wiki. Apparently this mission was supposed to be hard. I screwed myself out of an easy masters. So I didn't quite get away with it... I could have though.

After I bought a new armour set I also entered a mission with Mursaat before infusing it.=P It sucked, but survived.
Also forgot a few times to set my attribute points to sword after using an axe build (or vice versa) and I've had a few times I forgot to switch back from running, testing or PvP build to general PvE build before doing a mission with a PUG.xD

We were re-running the Ice Caves for a guildie (noone infused) and we had a couple of deaths to the 1st pack of mursaat, we were like, that's odd, we didn't have this much trouble last time, then we look at the party makeup and realize that our regular monk had changed to his elementalist character and no one had swapped heros to bring an extra monk along to replace him...

After a bit we realized that the hero monk we did have was not keeping us healed very well, we then realized the monk hero we did have with us was actually a protection monk, not a healer!!!

we actually somehow managed to complete the rest of the mission without anymore deaths

here is my fav from HAing with my old guild
we were running a EOE bomb for kicks a long time ago and a nec with death nova and he was our saccer.

I was the eoe ranger........cept i had no EoE, sad i know.
Some how we managed to beat 3 groups before resigning out.
I dont think they ever found out that forgot the skill....

I was messing around with a hamstorm build just to see what people say.....
went to go do THK and changed skills.....but not attribs and we managed to beat the mission and bonus and I didn't notice it but i looked my attribs after wondering near the end why i was dealin only 2-3 dmg on the mursatt. And wondered why i had 12 in fire magic.

Nahpui Quarter + 5 Assassins + 1 Ritualist + 2 Monk Henchmen = win. This was a week after Factions came out.

actually that works well for most areas in factions that group.

I can't remember how many times i went to an early town and saw nothin but Sins everwhere. 2 districs full of them. Then as soon as i got to the split part they died out fast and hard. Then i got to shiro and raisu palace and found that they owned with the celestial skill. But getting them was hard since there were so few there....sadly

Hamstorm? Please elaborate!

I like to imagine that I have entirely overlooked the existence of the Kitchen Magic line in the Elementalist profession. Hams raining from the sky, enemies' legs encased in noodles, projectile spells of rotten tomatoes. Elites like Grease Fire and Heart Attack. On death of a foe, you can buff your teammates with Vodka Watermelon.

On second thought, don't elaborate. There is no way your explanation could be more entertaining than what my imagination has provided.

we were doing viznah square in NM and asked if ne1 else in the guild needed it. we got a few ppl say they did and we found that we had 5 warriors and 1 monk. wanting to be a little evil and being the party leader i told every1 to bring frenzy heal sig and then added the sin and warrior hench.

so the party looked like this
5 frenzy warriors with heal sig
1 sin hench
1 war hench
1 monk not very happy
we had a hench team on the other side

surprisingly we breezed it, even with us all spamming frenzy and having no defensive skills. there was only 1 death and we got masters. we then went and did the same for tahnaki temple and got masters on that to.

So I was strutting around in this new suit, and one of my friends comes online. Turns out he's doing Thunderhead Keep for the first time, and yes he certainly would like to have my help! So I go there, and I'm looking good and feeling fine, just barely keeping the snottiness under control as I ask my friend's PUG if they're all infused. They say they are, and away we go.

Infusion . . . the concept runs through my mind again as the Mursaat close in on us. I asked the team if they were infused and they said yes, so why am I still thinking about it?

Oh crap.

I'm not infused.

I, the fancy-pants monk, benevolently helping out the hapless noobs, did not have my shiny overpriced clothing infused.

Then the Mursaat arrived . . . and I survived, somehow. I stayed WAY back from the mobs, and none of them got past the front lines, so I didn't melt into a squealing puddle. But I deserved to.

So, have you had any moments like that? Occasions where you did something truly dumb, and yet escaped the consequences? Post the stories here!
Seems your not the only had it recently on my monk too, bought her kurzick and helped out a guild for guess what = thunderhead keep and not infused and still survived (rofl)

Oh man, there's just no reason I should have Hard Mode done for Destruction's Depths right now. I decided to H/H it since everyone's busy farming rep this weekend and no one likes DD, especially not in HM. I did okay and got to the central transfer chamber in decent time. I managed to kill the mobs on the mid-level, pull the disc, and kill it without aggroing anything else.

But then my *ranged* golems went frenzy wammo on me and ran down the steps to a Destroyer of Lives I wasn't calling or targetting. All three died almost instantly and brought all three remaining mobs on my ass. Long story short, I wiped twice. I had some rainbow candy canes, and those plus the boost I got from killing the disc left the party around -5%.

Third time I went to that little balcony in the middle. My party was mostly ranged fighters, so I was hoping that maybe the destroyers would just get mad and wand at me.

Nope.

I saw them coming up around in a line and ran in a panic to meet them. I guess they were focused on getting at my mages because they didn't try to get past my bodyblock. A Sinew got around me and killed everyone in the party except me and the monks, then ran back around me and joined the bodyblock party.

One monk kept me alive, barely, as I desperately hacked at somewhere around 10 or 12 severely pissed off destroyers of bones, sinew, flesh, and thoughts. The other, I realized a bit later, was dutifully rezzing the party.

I made my way slowly down the line, killing everything I'd been holding back. The only things left of the three groups at the bottom of the CTC were those immobile Lives. I got my golems back up, picked off the last three monsters, and stumbled away to reap my rewards.

Seriously. I shouldn't have gotten away with that. I'm a mediocre player at best, the Sinew could have caused a wipe, I didn't have enough consumables, etc.
